Quarantine Summer 2020
A summer of quarantine in CA is no joke. It’s hot, community gatherings are currently banned, wearing a mask in 105° temperatures makes you sweat and is hard to breathe in. And, you don’t have a pool, you’re not completely out of luck 😉
We have some friends who wanted to get together in the park (6ft apart of course) since being in quarantine at home is lonely and depressing. We discussed activities that we are doing with our kids and I felt like sharing our activities because these may help other moms with their kids.
Summer Activities with kids (in quarantine):
- Find someone who has a pool, but a kiddy pool & swim!
- If there is no pool accessible, get a hose and sprinkler head and run through like the good old days!
- Beach days in the OC are some of our favorite things to do during quarantine.
- Take a hike!
- Try some Pinterest crafts or activities, like painting with water outside or a milk bath photoshoot (DIY milk bath photoshoot)
- Outdoor movies!! They have mini projectors on amazon (like this one 👉🏻 Anker Nebula Capsule, Smart Wi-Fi Mini Projector ) that we use on our block wall (if you don’t have a block wall, clip a sheet up on your fence) in our backyard and lay out sleeping bags for comfort. Add snacks & popcorn and you’re all set!
- Build a fort inside or camp out in the backyard!
- Find family or friends to meet up at the park (socially distant if you’re COVID cautious).
- Get some chalk for outdoor driveway/sidewalk art. I love walking around our neighborhood, seeing other kids notes to stay positive.
- Blast your AC and watch Christmas movies! Xmas in July is one of my fav things we do in summer to keep our minds off of the heat.
If all of these fail, try doing mediation, yoga or HIIT workouts at dawn to start your day. The early bird catches the worm 🐛
